In the summer of 2018, I traveled to Cusco, Perú. While in Perú, I worked at a kindergarten, which functioned much like preschools in the United States function. The children ranged from age 2 to age 5. I traveled the bus system every morning and I met my partner (pictured on the far right) at the bottom of a 138-step staircase. We then walked about 2 or 3 blocks to the house of Luisa Aucca Marín (pictured in the center), where the kindergarten was held. We would spend 4-5 hours Monday-Friday tutoring and mentoring students. We would then walk about 2 miles to our school where we would attend 3 1/2 hours of Spanish classes Monday-Friday. We would travel to museums, popular landmarks, and markets throughout the city during our classes. Every Saturday and Sunday, we would go on excursions outside of Cusco. We were able to go to the Sacred Valley and even Machu Piccu!
